Claim 1's are great because they provide and large number of potential plays. While everyone has stats on the trainer not much else is looked at that can point one in the right direction.
Here are some very generic filters that can help narrow down horses to look at:
Since these stats were generated using TrackMaster data, and the Canadian races don't have a race classification in the data files, the Race classification stats are US tracks only (Non-Winners(NW) & Claiming).
Also these stats are mainly winter racing and of course we have the pandemic effect.
Subsets of claimed horses coming back in 8 days or less:
So based on the last few months, 2 generic filters to narrow down the list would be quick turnaround, 8 days or less, and a Pace race.
There is a lot more to look at. But 2 simple filters can help narrow down a list.
