The obvious answer is "why not?" ...
I'll get around to it as soon as I have a bit of free time.

Ah-hah ...
the small 'c' appended to the class is the claimed tag ... should have been able to guess at that one.
I'm going to look for other tags that could be causing confusion and fuzzy-duplicates.
It might make sense to strip off these tags (doesn't change the class) and make note of them in a separate column.
You might see that in the next release.

Excel question (Using for easy task)
After downloading brisnet data, I tryed to open data in excel, and I get the message (There was a problem sending the command to the program). Any Ideas I believe it may have to do with the excel.exe file, I cannot find it. If this is the problem, how do I find a excel.exe file? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Brisnet offers several file formats. Which one did you download?
If you don't have Excel and don't feel like purchasing it, there is a free open source suite named 'OpenOffice' that works real well. And like I said ... the price is right.

Excel
Hi Duke
I downloaded Brisnets PP Data files (Single) Comma-Delimited Past Performances (single file format). I believe the problems with my Exel 2007. Im running Windows 7 Home premium if that matters. I can open Excel using the Icon on my Home page, but when I try to open a brisnet file in the easy task file under reports, Excel tries to open, remains black and I get the message (There was a problem sending the command to the program). If I cant get it fixed, I may try Open Office.

1) I presume you unzipped the brisnet file.
2) The brisnet file has an extension of .drf and is intended to be opened in the free software brisnet offers, which displays it in reader-friendly Daily Racing Form format (which you can print). You can also open it in an editor by highlighting the file name, then right-click and choose 'open with' and choose an editor such as Notepad or Wordpad. If you want to open it Excel you can change the .drf extension to .csv and then double-click it in your file manager and it should open in Excel. Or you can associate the .drf extension with Excel (not recommended).
3) You mention the brisnet files are in the reports folder. They should be in the datafiles folder. Nothing should be in the reports folder that the program did not place there. Specifically, after successfully running the easytask program, it will populate the reports folder with 3 files, one being a .txt file and 2 being .csv files. Double-clicking the .txt file will open it in your default editor (usually notepad) and double-clicking the .csv files will open them in excel.
It might be important to mention easytask has been tested under many releases of windows including Windows 7 (actually it is being developed under Windows 7) and the output files (the files in the reports folder) have been tested for compatibility with multiple releases of Excel, including 2003, 2007, 2010 and OpenOffice, so you should be good to go with your software releases.
I suspect your problem is somewhere in the 3 items above (your environment setup) and not with your hardware / software setup.
Try setting up as I have outlined and let me know if you are still having difficulties.
As an aside, I am putting together embedded help for EasyTask and that will show up in a near-future realease (along with other upgrades).
Thanks, duke

I have uploaded release 1.4 -- it is here:
http://myweb.cableone.net/skunkcreekcrew/freeware.html
This release includes the 1st call.
NOTE: not all races have a 1st call in the data files, specifically the shorter distance races. It appears they start showing up at the 770 distance but remain spotty all the way to through the 1100 distance. At the 1210 distance they stabilize.

Hi Duke, Just finished downloading the update and it is running as I type. I couldn't get it to work with a subfolder name of 8 characters. I thought I remember reading that you would probably make it work either way.
I don't want this to sound like a complaint it is just for info. The program seems to be running fine. The addition of the first call is going to be very helpful.
Thanks Duke,
TD

This release (and the previous one) was updated to let the user choose between the original folder name ' datafiles' and an less-than-8 name of ' data'.
I just changed my datafiles folder to data and ran the new version and it finished fine ... no problems.
So on your 98 machine, change datafiles to data and see what happens. I would be interested in hearing because I no longer have a 98-box that I can use for testing -- just recently donated my last one to the Vietnam Veterans of America.

Duke...
Thxs so much...
I'm sure you knew that this would be coming...
If someone is going to do a profile , a good thing would be to break it down by class...
is it possible to do 3 more columns for type price condition?
This would be the ultimate result..
thxs

Are those 3 fields in the brisnet single-format file?

Sorry Duke
Duke, I am sorry, the mistake is mine. I changed the name of the folder ok but I merely dropped the 'S' and of course it didn't run. I think you mentioned the correct name in a previous post but I had forgotten it apparently.
At any rate, is running fine with the subfolder named 'Data'.
Thanks again,
TD
