Bond funds are getting hammered. I think they are oversold, bought with both hands today. Market is assuming more rate hikes than the Fed has the balls for

gold has been slipping in price vs. the US dollar. who would have thought this dollar would be this strong with Biden as president for over a year now? (not me).
anyway, this gold consolidation is a good one. the key numbers heading south are going to be, 1920, 1900 and the extreme bottom 1780.. i don't think it gets to the bottom because of the length of time in this last expansion of price. which has taken 6 months.

It's pretty much all I'm buying now. I think stocks have a ways to tumble still, so I'm just nibbling at those on really bad days

I see PA post these picks and I wish I knew how to do options. All I ever hear about options is people getting hurt because they don't know what they are doing, except for the few like PA that have success. Keep making that money PA.

All those trades I posted were NOT options.
They were S&P E-mini futures contracts. They basically trade just like a stock. In fact, you can think of them just like the SPY ETF. Except they have their own set of margin requirements, they trade 23hrs a day from 6pm on Sunday until 5pm on Friday (eastern time), and the contracts expire every three months.
You simply buy and sell them (or short them) just like you would any stock or ETF.
They move in .25 increments (or ticks) and each tick is worth $12.50 per contract.
So if you buy 1 contract at 4200 and sell it at 4201, you make $50 minus commissions.

Guess what? Looks like that solid and established downward trend channel that's been going since the beginning of 2022, is now null and void.
It was tested and rejected in a big way today between 2-3:30pm...

You're basically just buying and selling the S&P 500 like you would using the SPY ETF.
There are some tax advantages in terms of reporting trades to the IRS. With futures, you don't have to report all your individual trades...just total P&L at the end of the year.
