I don't know about that...but seems like Wolfson gets a positive every week (I said seems)...me thinks it's time 'they' get serious with this guy and hand down a 6 month suspension

Here we go again, but I indirectly know the owner because he's a San Diego guy and by all accounts one of the nicest and most honest men around. His Name is Eddie Gann. They gave the Horse Aleve. Big Deal! Every Quarterback in the NFL and every Pitcher in Baseball takes Aspirin. C'mon people this has gone too far! Stop the Insanity!
By the way I'm drinking beer while posting.

That's because it's not against the rules in the NFL and MLB.

Exactly! Why don't we rule ourselves out of Horse Racing? Nothing against you but don't we see that this has gone too far.
Racing is what it is! We've reached a point of no return with this stuff.
Without betting, Horse Racing would be an equestrian event!

What exactly are you advocating? That drug testing should be eliminated and trainers and vets should be able to pump whatever they want into the horses? I have no idea what you mean by "this has gone too far" when most people (who don't have a friend who stands to lose $300k) would say that policing and enforcement of drugging rules are abysmal.

Because of Paranoia and whatever else, we are taking the Sport into the Toilet. If a Trainer can't give his Horse Aspirin or Aleve then let's open a Petting Zoo and a Museum in place of what used to be Horse Racing.
Racing Horses and Betting on them is what it is and anyone trying to sugar coate it is doing everyone a disservice!

Tell the DR. (Vet)...
"Before taking Aleve, tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs, or if you have:
a history of heart attack, stroke, or blood clot;
heart disease, congestive heart failure, high blood pressure;
a history of stomach ulcers or bleeding;"
Maybe it's class 4 because racers are subject to high heart rate and stomach ulcers?

Those are good points. Wouldn't each Horse have a medical history that followed them when they changed conncetions?

Does anyone here think the drug stuff has gone too far? In California I believe taking this issue to the extreme has contributed to the short fields.
I am a Horseplayer and not a Vet, but how can Aleve be that harmfull? When I go golfing I usually take one before I start and at the back nine so my back won't stiffen up. What's the big deal?

Why is Naproxen banned in horse racing? It's not Aleve that it is in question isn't it the Naprosyn or Naproxen? Was Naproxen abused in the past or what's the reason it is a banned substance?

In the article I read it was referred to as the same thing. Maybe I'm wrong.
