You keep thinking that bud.
Ron posts here. Let him reply to you. He'll tell us what's up.
I hope you didn't get Ron in trouble with Equibase by doing what you just did...(they read this website all the time)
Again, if I were Ron, I'd ban you the **** off HDW website...

BTW, the funniest part in all this? Ol' mikey thinks Dave S. is some sort of Tony Soprano when it comes to the horse racing data scene...
He can force anyone in the business to do his bidding...
In reality, I'm sure Ron @ HDW and the folks behind HTR aren't going to care what Dave tries to tell them regarding the sale (or not) of their own data...
IF THEY WANTED TO GIVE YOU THAT DATA FOR FREE, THEY WOULD HAVE DONE SO, NO MATTER WHAT DAVE S SAYS.

Deals are Deals....
This game is in need of help and decent people....
There are other Equibase Data websites that offers deals too...
(dont ask)
The profit cut from these deals are just part of the over all business that people conduct ....

Does Dave get a cut of the profits when you buy HTR data?
(you wouldn't even know this answer either way, so I don't know why I'm asking you...but it would be funny if you actually answered)

NO....
But he wont have to deal with discounts and people getting free back data when they join anymore...RIGHT?
This is the last thing I'm going to say on this.....
There are 5 Big Commercial Softwares on PA....
Out of the 5 , theres 1 that has taken constant abuse over the years (2003-present)
Why is that?

I've never heard of people getting free back data before you....so kudos to you.
As for discounts...dave does discounts all the time...it's called business.
I still can't wait to see if Ron will respond in this thread.

If Ron gets in trouble for "conducting business" then I'll have to accept the consequences he bestows on me....

Hopefully, just the one reply
Mike Salony,
1. I make every effort to take the high road in all things.
The higher power that I answer to demands that.
(Of course, I am not perfect.)
2. You make it sound like I'm involved in all the HDW decision-making. (I am not.)
3. For the record, I have absolutely zero influence on HDW's decisions. They abide by the EqB rules.
4. When YOU suggested/demanded that your back data be converted to HSH, I did not object.
- Why should I get a commission on money you spent with someone else?
- Of course, that had to be different going forward because it would mean multiple vendors would be splitting commissions, allowing nobody to get their fair share.
5. You asked for a refund of unused downloads. That seemed logical. Since you got a discount based upon downloading for 12 months, what did not seem logical was to award that refund based upon the discount you did not earn by fulfilling your part of the transaction.
Therefore, we backed you out of the deal, crediting the money you paid as if there was no discount, and refunded the balance.
This just seemed like the fair way to do it.
7. I doubt that anything will be gained by continuing a dialog here. Therefore, I will make every effort to not engage with you, although I am sure that will not deter you.
8. This is not my first rodeo.

Dave..
I know that you wont "engage" with me because you learned from past encounters ....
The re-fund , like you said, was fair.....no issues there
The past data I got was not my doing or asked for.....it was a gesture from being a long time customer and which was very appreciated.
Maybe you dont have any influence with HDW's decisions but its so funny the policy was changed , for everyone, just as I was leaving HSH....
DONE TOO!!!

So wait...if I go from HSH to Jcapper HDW will send me all the data I've downloaded for HSH in Jcapper format?
Since when was this a policy?
