Joe Biden has produced many gaffes over time, and I'm sure there will be more, but what about Trump?
* Claimed his father was born in Germany; he was born in the United States
* Hurricane Florence was “one of the wettest we’ve ever seen from the standpoint of water”
* Claimed he had just placed sanctions on "Ayatollah Khomeini" of Iran (dead for decades)
* How about the “floors of the forest?”
* Noise from windmills causes cancer
* “the kidney has a very special place in the heart”
Or just print out a transcript from one of his rallies and read his own extemporaneous thoughts. You'll find mangled syntax, incomplete thoughts, and borderline incoherence (at times). Again, read the words.
Trump supporters seem to think he's Churchill. Or the old standard, "oh I don't pay attention to that stuff!" Many passes for Trump, none for Biden.

Other—at least he will not tweet lies on a daily basis.
I will take a confused president over a known liar.

Here's a Trump gaffe from just yesterday on Trump-friendly Fox News.
Trump: "I think I've done more for the black community than any other president. And let's take a pass on Abraham Lincoln, because he did good. Although it's always questionable, you know, in other words, the end result."
Harris Faulkner: "Well, we are free, Mr. President. He did pretty well."
Sorry, make that a rather stunned Harris Faulkner, who happens to be black.
What's "always questionable?" "The end result?" Did Trump oppose the outcome of the Civil War? Probably not. So what's "always questionable?"
Trump supporters will likely argue he was referencing something entirely different, ala his disinfectant comments. Trump supporters always take a charitable view of his gaffes. Biden? No so much.

i wonder what the chances are of seeing debates this year if these wind up the candidates?
if these are the 2 and Biden is dumb enough to show up for a debate, he deserves to lose.

There are people that argue slavery in the US would have ended in a relatively short period of time (as it did in other countries) without well over 600k dead soldiers, uncounted dead civilians, and all the destruction and pillage in the South.
Of course if you were a slave or believed in using force to keep all states into a union you might have a different view on whether the cost was worth it.

As you know, Biden more than held his own in the last one-on-one debate against Sanders. Coherent. Very few verbal miscues. Granted, a Biden vs. Trump debate will be much uglier.
But Trump isn't a great debater; he's a great insulter. That worked well for him in 2016. It's still working with male voters. For the most part, his support among male voters has held steady over the past four years. He's losing women. Big time. Let's see if insults work in 2020.
