I guess you missed my point.
If she was running in the high 90s, that doesn't mean she couldn't get into the low 100s if required, but there's a point where the reserves she has in the tank would not be enough to win.
Outside of extreme paces, my experience is that these Grade 1 types with outstanding records tend to have a a few lengths more in the tank than you think to overcome minor trips, biases, or slightly faster horses and still win.

Sorry, I was just having some fun.
I get your point, she had enough guts to beat classy horses but couldn’t beat the top males. No shame in that.

Horses are horses. They couldn't care less about speed figures, records, or payoffs (attention, leisure rest, and good feed excluded). They just run as fast as they feel they need to in order to do what they want to do. If they can't get that done they follow the one that can.

Max looking to become the first horse DQed from the Derby and the richest race ever...quite the trifecta. He's a super horse though.

I'll always believe Maximum Security is a super horse, but did you intend to add that "o" in shout?
A horse should never be punished for what a trainer does.

If that were to happen the filly WINS, right?

I agree that it's not Max's fault -- but if not for what the trainer did, would we even know of Maximum Security in the first place?

I mean, really, the horse doesn't know. If anything he is being saved from further doping and will be more healthy going forward.

I understand how any horse under Servis care will be suspect. But Max did what he did, and I am very confident his future will be an enviable lifestyle all things considered.
My big question is what will owner West and Coolmore have to say about all this turn of events. Will they assign him to a new trainer in the quest for Breeders Cup? Or will they knock off the media blitz, retire the horse, call it a day? Ya gotta figure he'll compete with the chefs for bookings.

We don't know Max was ever doped. If he WAS being doped you would think that would have been discovered long before now. It is quite possible that style trainer treatment was reserved for horses that weren't performing at the desired level.
I do know over the past 3 months a relatively high number of races have been won by horses entered by trainers boasting gaudy conditional stats while the horse's numbers make you wonder how this horse qualified for this race.
