WASHINGTON (AP) — Facing a midnight deadline to avoid a partial government shutdown, President Donald Trump said Friday a closure would drag on "for a very long time" and he tried to build the case that congressional Democrats would bear responsibility if there's no deal over his demand for U.S.-Mexico border wall money.

The timing of these things matters.

But then Upchuck Schumer stepped up to the plate and intends to take full ownership of the shut down later today.
ONLY senate democrats can stop a shut down now.

Perhaps a more accurate comment should have been.. "Where did you get your information". perhaps from Trumpian news source.
I find it interesting that many here attack the messenger rather than message.

CNBC notes that the shutdown is expected to affect more than 420,000 federal employees who will continue to work with deferred payment such as law enforcement, and around 380,000 workers who won’t be paid for the missed time such as NASA staff.

Stupid people will be stupid. You can try to help them, but more times than not they'll continue to be stupid.
They'll resist the betterment of themselves with some glorious belief of everybody will be great. They'll even believe in taxing others in some grandiose belief of monetary redistribution.
