RanchWest's Recovery

No news on how RanchWest might be doing, since his hospitalization. He hasn't been responding to emails, which might just mean he's fully invested in his rehab after surgery, and choosing to get that squared away first. Hope he posts some recovery news here soon. Best wishes on his journey.

Was hoping for some good news. Is there anyone close to where he is physically at?

His last known rehab, what state was that in? Some states all you have to do is ask for a special prescription when you have decided that you have had enough. Not saying this is the case but it is not like him to go this long without contact.

Hey, no need to go there. i think it was a tough surgery, and he's working his
way back. He's in Texas, near a number of good hospitals. He may have contacted others, just not me. That was the reason for this thread.

Lets just hope maybe he is a little down from things not progressing as quickly as he had hoped and is a little withdrawn. I have had people recovering wanting to talk about it a lot and then one day I get my head
bitten off for asking. My grandma was like 88 and they broke a couple ribs getting a spot off her lung that was benign (harmless). She had to spend 3-4 weeks in a convalescent home, and she was very spry for her age. She ended up living alone till 97 and died a couple months short of a 100. The home she was in was right down the street from Los Alamitos. It was like about at week two and some change, she asked if I would take her outside. She was always very polite, did not cuss and even being highly religious she would not say hell.

Anyway she is struggling and in pain trying to put her shoes on, as I come to help she gets angry and starts yelling at me that if she can't put her shoes on they won't let her out of that $@!&!*&^ place that is full of old people. I am like in my 30's and had never seen grandma raise her voice, she totally lost it, the old people comment was priceless, she felt that was a derogatory term, she used elderly or senior citizen instead.

I have seen him liking posts on Facebook a few days ago but he's not made a post since October 5.

He's a good man facing a huge life challenge.

Praying for him.

Update (minutes after I posted)
Just saw a reply from him to someone who asked how he was doing.

I will not share because that's up to him, but know that he is responding.

That is some good news, maybe he is just kind of worn out.

When my cancer was first diagnosed, I sent almost a month in the hospital.....It can REALLY take it out you both physically and emotionally. Frustrating too not knowing what is the long term situation at hand.

Other than when I was born that was the first time I was hospitalized.

What we all can admit is horse racing has been on a steep decline, keeping ahead in the game requires a different amount of effort depending on the person. That being said one would think horse racing would be the first to not pay attention to when facing really tough days. With that I suggest we should leave it alone until he feels like doing Pace Advantage. Just saying. .

Yes, I have seen a couple of posts on Facebook but nothing personal.

However, he has not responded to any private messages, so I am respecting his privacy.

Still offering up prayers for him.
