Just a side note: the 1A was a +20 Sp Improv play last race where he paid 27.00 at 10000. I mentioned him specifically in my first or 2nd post there. Today there was no standout SI play in this race. I based my selection on tote play and his previous race, which I saw. In my mind 15-1 ML was crazy. For Boulder's benefit. the 1A did show a +5 speed improvement is you're using the speed ratings with variant, 71 up to 76. But his equibase ratings were flat. The #6 was a +6 SI, which is why I made him my second pick.

Results: 9-$12.20-5.20-3.60 (NorCalGreg also had this one)
5- 3.00 plc
11- 4.40 shw
2-
Ex 38.90 Trif 178.80
The #9 was a +9 SI, #11 a +4, and #5 had no SI but was 2nd high l.r. speed rating(9 was top). again talking to Boulder, there was a +11 SI in this race, but I only placed him 4th in my rankings based no action on the tote board by my methods. when I see lots of improving horses, I don't blindly just take the high number and let it ride, other factors get involved.

5/7 Exacta : 56.80No real SI plays in this race. I used tote analysis and actually dutched the 5 and 4 with my heavier bet on the 5, both to win. The 4 caught my eye, when her first odds flash was 7-2 when she was a legit 8-1 ML. I leaned more heavily on the 5 due to 4 not running for 40 days.

This race had a lot of SI horses which isn't my preferred method for spot plays. for example, the #2+9Si, #3+11/8, #4+6, #6+2, #7+7, #11(winner)was +7. The 3 was tentatively highest SI, but no +5 advantage over the others. He was also 80-1 p.t. odds. I made my selections again using tote analysis based on exacta payoffs. Just too many sp improv horses to separate them.
