I don't know where to begin here. David Aragona is one of the best morning line-makers in the country. He clearly articulates the differences between his personal selections based on his own handicapping against what he is setting as the ML.
If he feels he found a not-so-obvious reason not to like a favorite, he will still make the horse 8/5 on the ML but will go on the record with his reasons why he won't be betting on the horse. And usually the horse will go off at 9/5 and not win the race. So to suggest he is somehow "trying to prove his theories" via his ML's is complete non-sense.
Finally, I've seen Andy Serling be nothing but genuinely complimentary and supportive of the guy, so I'm not sure where you are going with the last sentence.
