Presious Passion in the UN
Was out in front by 20 L , in 45. 1:09.3 1:34 1:59. 2:10 for 1 3/8 on a very speed favoring turf course and set a new record. Won it last year in 2:13 A most impressive race indeed.

I bet Lauro, I thought I was in the golden spot, 2nd off those fractions.
Congrats to PP

The fractions, and final time, are probably woefully inaccurate for that race. Still a very fun race to watch.

Yeah it was. except 25nw2l in last went 23 46 1:10.4 too. and my buddy had one in a n1x that went in 1:33.mile. The turf course had the 24' out rails back to 0 today after 2-3 weeks out, so it was virgin turf. I wonder what the runup is for 1 3/8 there.

runup
The run-up is 64 feet. I still find the time hard to believe after the 19 second posted first 1/4. Time questions aside the winner did run well and held gamely in the lane.

I was watching the race on British channel At The Races. They timed the race by hand afterwards and found out that the race was four seconds slower than the timer showed. I did the same by watching the replay and it's true, the horse went four seconds slower, there was no new track record at all.

Why don't you call Monmouth management and share your observation with them?

I don't think the time is off that much. They probably aren't taking the run up into account.

I still cannot beleive he got the 1st 1/4 in 19+ seconds...that just seems impossible but man, oh man, you don't see acceleration like that every day...what a crazy race...I just kept saying "what the....what the....what the"...you just don't see races like that very often...I think Precious Passion will be a force to reckon with come BC day!
Great race

just do a simple test - watch the video on youtube
it's simply wrong
there was a race at Woodbine a few weeks ago which was off by 3 seconds
drf.com actually corrected the time after a few days, so it will be interesting to see what they do with this one
it was a great race to watch, even though I had a small bet on the second, but the winner did not improve English Channel's record by two seconds, I'm afraid

I happened to catch this race on TVG, and I'm glad I did...what a race!
Those times have to be off though.... :19 4/5 for the first quarter....
That was the ol' patented "Julio Pezua on a Belmont longshot turfer ride"...only this time, the horse won!! And he wasn't a longshot!! And it wasn't Julio Pezua riding...

I am sure they will add a few tenths onto the final time but it is still a new record for a very fast horse. Win and you're in, this one is in.
