Electric Cars are Sooo Sexy...and HOT, Who Wouldn't Want One?
Electric Jaguar I-Pace Catches Fire While Charging, Reduced to Ashes in Middle of Road

Not to mention, they're safe and effective and will save you a ton of $$$...and of course the environment...except when they go up in smoke.

Come on... they are self decomposing. I'm sure that will be included in their sales paperwork... if it's not already in the micro pint. Car may combust and turn to toxic dust... by acknowledging with your signature this protects us from any liability. And reaffirms your obligation to continue to pay for it and annual maintenance fees. In the event that spontaneously decomposition occurs while in normal use... or plugged in to coal powered juice.

From the article:
"Although according to the outlet, electric vehicle fires aren’t as prevalent as gasoline-based vehicle fires; however, electric vehicle battery fires are much harder to put out."
Yes, because 95% of the cars on the road are internal combustion engines.
Do the comparison on fires per 1,000 vehicles to get an apples to apples comparison.

Maybe the electric cars should be built by Marcos Engineering.
Since they're made out of wood, perhaps they "burn cleaner."

The average EV costs about $60,000. The EV battery lasts for approximately 65,000 miles. To replace the battery costs approximately $20,000.

65,000 miles on a modern motor is 30,000 from needing to replace the plugs. Hardly broke in.
Not only that look at Tesla... it can reach into your EV and choke your battery. Who's to say that can't outright kill it. Or make the computer think it's dead. Not just Tesla . But any EV manufacturers.
But battery cost will only rise as more demand for them come about... only so much lithium to go around. And then you'll face obsolescence by design as there won't be a standard battery configuration . so no battery shack replacements. So your 5 to 10 year old car is now a lawn ornament worth 500 or less.. So pony up for a new tinker toy.

I still have my '94 Corvette. Way back in 1994, the manufacturer recommended changing the plugs at 100,000 miles, which I did. With regular Mobil 1 oil changes (about every six thousand miles) the car runs great.

Anything built with CNC machines I consider a modern engine. So your Vet is in the window. Nice... blue, silver or red? Then again maybe dark bronze metal flake. As Neil Young sang about Mort... Long may she run.

Tesla, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Nissan all guarantee their batteries for 8 yrs or 160,000 Km. whichever comes first. Several articles quote 200,000 miles for battery life, which I think isn't practical if mfrs say they'll be at 70% charging capacity after 10 years. Put them in cold winter environments and we'll see how well they hold up. Wait until semi-trucks batteries start needing replaced, the price to replace will two 2-3X times the cars.
