I didn't serve, even though I had the conditioning and the size of a large NFL free safety, a two level vertebrae fracture at 14 left me with life long very limited motion in my neck. Recruiters that came to the High School said I would not pass a military physical, even though I passed one to play football in college, as they did not check my neck motion.
