Another question for the new year.

I would have to imagine, after the last 5-10 years especially, the US has lost a major chunk of the demographic that used to make up the base of its professional military.

I'm going to assume a major chunk of those folks have become pretty cynical, disillusioned and jaded after watching the show unfold over the last decade.

So who does that leave to fill the giant gaping hole in recruitment?

Certainly not young liberals...LOL

The Government never does itself any favors. The “talk “ and what actually takes place never matches up. You get all the bull shite, sappy ….. support the Vets talk and it’s mostly pomp. I mean , it doesn’t matter if one is conservative or liberal. It’s all the same lies . Homeless veterans all over the streets , enormous suicide rate and I wouldn’t go to the VA for serious medical treatment in a million years . I know three guys personally who got all screwed up or over by the VA. It’s just a joke . Thank God I didn’t serve and count on their phony benefits. Which have been questionable since WW 1. I knew it was mostly bs going in the Navy . I don’t know how any of these politicians…… from either side ……. Spout their bs and sleep at night .

What anyone says and then what actually happens to Vets is two different things and not much of it is positive. The jig is up at this point .

In a conventional war, air power would have to carry the weight because trying to orchestrate a ground mission would be a joke. Who would the infantry be composed of? Few parents would allow their boys to leave home and fight. Forget about a draft, too. Liberals would have none of that.
I envision the next big war America partakes will be nuclear...small warheads hopefully. Just make sure your child's handheld internet gadgets are fully charged. Failure here would be as bad as dying.
