Life is Good in the Woodward

Life Is Good is expected to have just three or four opponents in Saturday’s Grade 1, $500,000 Woodward Stakes

Small fields in graded stakes continue

The Lukas Classic looks like the better race.

I'm looking forward to watching him run even if the race is unbettable. I hope he's very impressive. He's the key to making the Classic a bettable race.

Short fields are the norm these days but this field looks DIRE. Moving away from Saratoga has apparently done a number on the Woodward

The Jockey Club Gold Cup was in the same boat. "Training up to" started it, and the newly formed Lukas Classic is making it worse.

A completely unbettable race, like most graded stakes at NYRA these days.

Not many good things you can say about that field.

The Woodward field....

Here's a thought,
Pay LIG $100,000 for a public workout.
Use the rest of the purse money and card a shitload of $7500 conditioned claimers to use as feature races for the rest of the year. Chris Griffin can probably sent a few up,

Obviously, huge purse do no provide good races for bettors. Maybe purse should be cut to see how that works.

Or better yet, go back to HANDICAP races, were LIG would getting 138 pounds. Try something, what they're doing sucks right now.

How about Churchill running the Gr3-AckAck at 1m and then Gr2-Lukas Classic at 1m1/8 a half hour later?
Both for 3yr olds and up

Well, these are the same idiots who can't grow grass in Kentucky, so I'm not looking for anything too intelligent to come out that group.

Preps for Dirt Mile and Classic. Usually these wouldn't make sense, but in this case I think they do.

How about they cut the purses of all allowance and claiming races in half and Inflate the purse sizes of stakes races to maybe convince owners and trainers to actually run their horses.

Or do what you said and used the saved money to invest in the tapeta coming to Belmont park
