No of course not, but it will be a great deterrent. Every border patrol person I have seen interviewed including one appointed by Obama and fired by Trump say emphatically that walls work based on our experience with the existing walls.

So, like I said, I didn't watch Trump or the Dem response...but...based on what has been posted here in the aftermath, sounds like Trump hit it out of the park (LMAO). I mean, if his detractors aren't calling it the worst speech ever, I have to think it was pretty good in reality...

It wasn't all that PA but he did state the facts.
Kind of left it up to America to decide.

Nope.
This time was different.
He was not his effusive self tonight.
It was like he was depressed.

Even further, why do you care? You don't even live here.

Might be one of those people that make frequent trips to Bellingham to buy stuff at Costco.

He's not built to make the kind of pitch he was asked to make tonight.
If anything it highlights the disjoint between his base and mainstream America... the people this was meant to influence.

1. Jumping the Shark. Surprised that you have never heard the term, but here is a link that explains it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jumping_the_shark
2. If you are going to say that "you don't even live here" to Burls, then you should be fair and say the same to others such as Woodtoo who also "doesn't live here." Oh yeah, wood is a conservative Canadian so he is okay, right?

Speaking of what the hell are people talking about, whatch u talkin' 'bout Willis?
Please explain who the weak Canadian dollar makes it a good deal for shoppers to cross the border to shop in the U.S. Currently, 1 Canadian dollar = 0.76 USD.

It seemed as though the lights may have been bothering him. He was really squinting.
I agree, he was trying to be "presidential" but that really does not suit him. He does better when he goes off script, says weird things, repeats himself, and insults people. At least where his base is concerned.

The debate is about the fundamental transformation of America.
I voted for Trump to put a stop to that.
There is no need to transform, read that destroy America.

Drive through the parking lot of Costco in Bellingham or even Burlington on a weekend and half the cars have Canadian plates. I seriously doubt that it is Washington residents that own them.
The Canadians load up on food - dairy products must be lots cheaper. Probably gasoline cheaper as well, but when you buy it be the litre how can you tell?
