I'd be way more concerned if Rubio wasn't a lot like McCain in that he never saw a conflict and external matter he didn't want to get involved in or start.
Trump was right in the campaign, but hasn't been governing correctly because of the influence of oil, necons, and other war hawks on his administration.
We should not be moving closer to the Russia border with NATO or trying to influence the internal politics of former Soviet satellite countries. All that's going to do is increase the probability of conflict with Russia. The closer the west gets to Russia's border, the greater the security concerns they have. That makes it more likely they will do aggressive things to hold us back. Instead, we should be trying to improve economic and other ties with Russia and Putin. Putin is damn near the most sensible leader we have the world right now. That's how screwed up things are.
We should be withdrawing from the middle east, albeit slowly, and working towards energy independence for ourselves and our greatest allies. Let the Arabs drown in their oil. They hate our influence in the region (rightly so) and we spend trillions on bases, wars, etc..
