Guilty of what? I'd say not telling the truth but that's too obvious.

There is no desperation.....there will be no wall.
Or, at least nothing but some symbolic stretch of a few miles somewhere.
Cons, you wouldn't settle for some half-assed piece of useless symbolism
now, would you? Sure you would. That's the best you will get out of this.

except the sections of wall in place have done a job beyond anybodies imagination. Seriously, nobody in their right mind could even argue whether the wall will work or not. It's already been proven they do. The left is simply using cost as an argument because they know damn well it will work and that's what pisses em off. The cost is not even an issue when you consider the amount of money it's going to save this country in the long run. If your truly a deficit hawk you'll argue for the wall all week and twice on sunday.

Even though most of the dems and 0bama ALL said we needed it.
Funny how things change around here.
Nothing matters unless it is the message from the mother ship.
So are you know telling us 0bama and UpChuck et all were totally wrong all along?

Fences Work

I have a fence around my backyard.
It works. Never had anything stolen from it.
For several years, my next door neighbor didn't.
He kept getting items stolen out of his yard eg. batteries, bicycles.
Finally, he erected a fence and hasn't had any problems since.
Lesson: Fences are deterrents.
Can you imagine what could happen at the White House if there wasn't a fence around it?

In places where we do have a wall, it works, contrary to the lies from the left.
This is not about a wall or national security, two things no democrats give a crap about.

I think the President ends up backing down... what will his base do next?
GOP Doesn't Have the Votes
Quote:
Trump has told people around him that he is frustrated that he does not have much leverage in the fight, and two presidential advisers said a shutdown was unlikely because there was no way the president could win. The White House plan is to not shut down the government, both of these people said.
|
Quote:
House Republicans last week considered putting legislation on the floor that would offer $5 billion for a border wall as Trump has demanded. But Hill leadership eventually told the president that there were not enough votes to pass it, as two top Democrats had already told Trump in a remarkable Oval Office encounter last week.
|
I've used the word leverage a lot... on here... discussing the President. I don't think he understands how it works.

Trump understands being the boss, where the leverage is being able to say, "You're fired".
Maye he is starting to figure it out.
Quote:
President Donald Trump is mulling the prospect of making a counter-offer to Democratic leaders that would prevent a partial government shutdown and kick the border wall fight into next year, according to two sources familiar with the negotiations.
While the specifics of that offer are unclear, Republicans on Capitol Hill are increasingly considering a two-week stop-gap that would fund the government into January. Roughly a quarter of the federal government will shut down next Friday absent a bipartisan deal.

All the MSM outlets focusing, yet again, on the facts.

Bah humbug....

This looks like some kind of shifty deal that will lead to a spitting match with the Dems.
I love sleazy politics.
Quote:
The White House wants to avoid a partial government shutdown and has found other ways to get the border wall President Trump is demanding, spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said Tuesday.
Sanders’ comments come four days before large portions of the federal government will begin shutting down unless Congress and Trump reach a funding deal.
Trump has been demanding $5 billion from Congress for his border wall, which Democrats refuse to give.
But Sanders told Fox News Channel: “We have other ways that we can get to that $5 billion.”
“At the end of the day we don’t want to shut down the government, we want to shut down the border,” Sanders said.
Sanders said the White House was exploring other funding sources and believed it could be legally done.
“There are certainly a number of different funding sources that we’ve identified that we can use, that we can couple with money that would be given through congressional appropriations that would help us get to that $5 billion that the president needs in order to protect our border,” she said.
