Anyone notice this workout pattern BEFORE the race today @ SA?

Trainer Bill Morey had this horse sharp as a tack off the layoff. His owner must have spent a ton of money on this horse during his months away from the races. That race he ran a month ago--was obviously a live 1/2 mile workout.

These are the horses you want to kick yourself for missing. It was all right there.

**There's a thread somewhere about the importance of early speed, etc. I happened to see a couple interesting entries today at Penn today. One horse refuses to run anywhere except mid pack ...he just doesn't want to lead. If forced to run close to the lead he loses interest by the 2nd call:

ABETS ABET has taken money previously....and shows one win a couple races back. He looks to be improving, if you can toss that last no-effort race. Still---which horse is going to show up today?
I couldn't bet him. One of his comments from a back-race says "returned bleeding from nostrils"

The next horse I happened to notice is the exact opposite of Abets Abet...RANSOM NOTE. He's got so much speed-but rarely wins. I'm no trainer but one problem I can see right off--this horse needs a REST!
He had 19 starts last year--you can see they run him appx every 2 weeks, for the check. Here it is Jan 3rd--he's already starting on what looks to be another long campaign. Suppose he'll get a rest when he breaks down. I'd like to see another owner/trainer take over the mngt of this horse. A horse with that much speed should have more than one win, wouldn't you think?

First...did anyone have Best-Five's top pick in the 9th @ Santa Anita today? TIGER DAD $19.00. I circled it before I posted--but haven't heard from any winners.

Also...Longshot AND Best Bet EXCESS CAPACITY took down the money in the 1st race @ Aqueduct for a sweet $40.00 even. That one added $80.00 to the bankroll, since it appeared on both categories.

I think I'll end the Best Bets tracking on that note--and just continue the Longshots. Strangely...I've hit more longshots at top-tier tracks, than the tracks in the boonies. If you play longshots--you'll know that appx 1 for 12 is a good avg as long as they pay enough. Nothing worse than hitting a 15-1 ML shot--and getting a $9.00 payoff. I can't stare at toteboards all day, nor do I put on conditions. I just take them as they come.

Greg, Nobody can say that you don't show any of your picks for your systems before the race. Been at this a long time, and haven't seen anyone else ever do that, well except maybe that kid from Canada. Happy New Year.
