Well, I have news for you.
There wasn't much of that.

Facebook can influence public opinion beyond belief.
Manipulate it a certain way, and the world is your oyster.
Or, political playground - to be more precise.
A respected member on this board posted a "current event" meant to generate anti-immigrant sentiment literally a week ago.

The video was 6 years old.

Gotten off of a social media site.

$100K of Facebook ads.

That is your argument for Russian influence.

You got anything else pumpkin?

The work that went into trolling via FB and those ads was enormous.
It wasn't like buying a $100K commercial for 5 seconds on Super Bowl Sunday.
Not that you would understand, though.

Arguing with you converts is about as productive as headbutting a wall.
I have better things to do.

You don't have better things to do.

And supposedly $100K of Facebook ads are like a Super Bowl commercial now.

Most people quit digging when they hit rock bottom. You keep digging, and then blame me for your digging.

If you want to get to the bottom of Russia's bogus 'influence' in the 2016 election --plus the 2012 election-- you need to subpoena the following criminals:

Barry Obama, Eric Holder, John and Tony Podesta, plus any and all persons associated with the Clinton scum -- the Foundation, Bill, and Hillary!

Include also, James Clapper, Jim Comey, John Brennan, and the entire upper management of the FBI, DNI, CIA and DoJ.

That's a start.

The United States led by the C.I.A. has never tried to influence the outcomes of foreign elections. Right?

This is the first time that Russia has tried to influence the U.S. elections. Right?

C'mon, this stuff has been going on for decades. Because the MSM hates Trump it's now a big deal. Honest objective reporting and balanced well-thought out opinions are a thing of the past in American news circles.

OK I think I have a handle on this. The Russians paid facebook 100K to place adds on facebook that brainwashed enough liberals and independents to vote for Trump that he was able to pull off an election win. If it was that easy the liberals are screwed from here till eternity in presidential elections

Personally, I'd rather have Putin influence our elections than Soros, the Koch brothers, deep state leftists, neocon war mongers, CNN, MSNBC, FOX, ABC, NBC, CBS, the Wash Post or NY Times.

I started this comment mostly a joke, but in a very literal sense I think Putin is less of a threat to the US. This is coming from a hard line anti communist free market libertarian. Putin has no interest in attacking or destroying the US. He wants to do business with us. He has Russia's interests and defense in mind. He's not going to do the west any favors. But on many levels he's more of a traditional western and Judeo Christian values kind of guy than the slime that influences our country from within now.

THE AMOUNT OF misinformation on FB was trivial compared to the amount broadcast by CNN, PMSNBC, et al day in, day out. Worldwide, FB is a real problem because they are supplying fake news from people with agenda and they do nothing about it, and in those places, the availability of real news on nowhere near as great as it is here. People who get their news from FB are idiots. Those who changed their votes due to anything they got on FB don't deserve to have a vote.

And, the stuff that really changed minds was the TRUTH about Hillary and the DNC.

Catch-22?

How the **** do you KNOW this?

The FACT is you DON'T. You don't KNOW shit. All of this stuff is conjecture and conspiracy theory based on "them" telling you what you should believe.

There is little to no PROOF of ANY of the above.

THAT is the TRUTH.

Whoever propagates such nonsense.

All of this Trump Russia business is one billion times more absurd than "the Birthers."

The fact we have reporters asking POTUS if he is a Russia Agent makes me want to vomit continuously. We are a joke of a nation.

If Russia accomplished ANYTHING, it was getting us to this point.

COMPLETELY NEUTERING the Executive Branch of the USA.

Nice job, enablers. All the Trump haters should be labeled Russian co-conspirators after this is all over.
