I will make a prediction...the Stock Markets will BE DOWN from here going forward....OVER-ALL...till the Gov't re-opens or news there-of a deal is reached...
The over-all DRAG on the economy with-out THE government Teat/Tit being involved will suck it down...not just talking missing paychecks here...
that's my 2 cents worth...1943 copper that is...

Did a 1950s TV Episode(Twilight Zone) Feature a Character Named Trump Who Offered to Build a Protective Wall? You’ve probably seen this really bizarre story of the Twilight Zone-like episode of the TV show “Trackdown” from 1958 which bears some difficult-to-believe resemblances to 2019 America.

Once again, an 'expert' post from the know-it-all, smartest guy in the room camp.
Yes, someone has conceptual problems and it isn't Donald J. Trump.
Always wrong; never in doubt.
I should have trade marked that phrase.

We also gave out $9 billion in subsidies to farmers.
Other commodities have also been hit extremely hard which can put a drag on the overall CPI.
Soybeans for instance.

None.
It's the socialist farmer hand outs Trump asked for because of his trade fight.

Yep that will be a wrong prediction.
Even I didn't think he was this stubborn. The senate will step in now.
I thought for sure he'd try and weasel out using the National Emergency trick... it seemed the smartest play. It's also still his only real move.

This government has been giving out piles of subsidies to farmers since The Grapes of Wrath hit the silver screen, if not sooner.
If you and clocker both wish to complain about the government giveaways I assure you no one will care nor listen. I don't like them too, fwiw.
Soybeans has had dozens and more times over many years when the commodity price has wildly been up and down big time in the marketplace.
I know it is now a big deal to the Trump haters --coming mostly from a group of people that usually hate farmers and rarely get their fingers dirty-- but it will go on deaf years.
For you, especially, link us your post when you complained of low soybean prices -- which happened at times under Obama, Bush, Clinton …
I am willing to bet the house you never did. No knock on you, except the Trump haters are disingenuous when they utter the word 'soybeans' to knock him on economic and trade issues.

You take in $8... you give out $9...
I think its more an issue of how you tried to frame the discussion.

When ever anyone criticizes anything Trump does, you ignore the issues and the facts and just dismiss it as knee-jerk hatred of Trump. You are doing the same thing you accuse others of, just in the opposite direction.

Oops! Story in the LA Times:

Border security workers miss paychecks because of shutdown over border security

Two unions have filed suit against the Trump administration so far, including the one that represents Customs and Border Protection officers.

Yes, there are Trump haters here. But not every criticism of Trump is based on hate. Some are objective. I have stated here that he has done some good things. But I still get accused of hating him when I objectively point out things he is doing wrong.
