Earl Anthony

I already had him in mind kingfin66!

I also watched Mark Roth on TV and it got down to who's blood I thought was the coldest.

That's why I pick Nelson Burton Jr. as the best. He was a very articulate teacher as well.

Remember watching him on Saturday afternoon bowling just before Wide World of Sport. Even though he was a Seattle guy, I never did see him in the flesh.

Anthony, Burton, and Roth were all the same "generation". Holman was the young gun that came along and pushed on them.

Remember many an Anthony-Roth head to head.

I believe the first televised 300 ever was rolled by a guy named Johnny Geunther, or Gunther. He was also a Seattle guy.

Thask, what do you think if anything can be learned from the "demise" of bowling" by the racing industry. The author seems to feel that bowling was a victim of a changing world, put up a valiant fight but was outgunned. Is horse racing in the same inevitable spiral.

The bowling industry 'SOLD OUT' to the bowling ball industry...and public hubris...and the iNCREASING expenses most of all...which KILLED the ability to practice...and of course...every league bowler wanted to average 200 with-out practice...so the super strong bowling balls allowed that....hence....no more fans...as it was no longer special to shoot high #'s....my 2 cents...
