This is where the extreme green energy policies have led Germany to. They are decommissioning their nuclear plants. On another web site a few years ago I had read that due their climate & energy policies that the KWH price of their electricity for businesses & industrial companies had tripled in about a 5 year span. At the time it converted to about 33 cents per kilowatt hour. Where I live it is about 11 cents per KWH. The green energy scamsters talk about "sustainability". But those kinds of price explosions are not sustainable for the businesses or their customers. And now they are hostage to Russians. They are screwed big time.
I hope this will wake people up in other countries that this push to carbon free energy will be incredibly disruptive and costly. But I doubt it.

Spain went green 20 yrs ago. They ended up with 25% unemployment and the “green” energy couldn’t keep up. They have recently started reversing course, but it’s predicted it will take 20 yrs to overcome the setback.

I guess GREEN is working here....
I just signed up , for my second year, a ESCO which is giving me a 7.99 kWh rate....
Here in New York , rates have been 11.9.....11.7...12.4 cents last 3 months with the incumbent crooks Con Edison....

I believe its all a game , now that I think of it....
All ESCO's are charging well over 12 cts kWh....from a major list
So why are they giving me a 12 months at 7.99
When I got that rate , I told my brother and asked him to call and ask for their rate for his home...they told him 12.99 !!!!
So the game is ...keep current customers happy and rape new sign ups...
WTF is the world coming to....

Northern Nevada is still populated with a lot of old cowboy-types. By nature, they (we) resist things imposed by the government. (Either directly or indirectly.)
As an example, the local power monopoly, NV Energy, offered everyone a free ever-so-wonderful, thermostat. We passed.
The fine print was that NV Energy has the ability to control that thermostat!
Can you hear it coming? "Sorry, but today's A/C temperature will be 77 degrees."
BTW, they did the same thing with water meters a couple of decades ago. They cut your water bill if you allowed them to install a new meter.
This meter has the ability to throttle your water in times of drought. Thus, they can keep building apartments because it is profitable and make it more difficult for the citizenry.

My business rate is 7.5 but my home rate is 10. I notice here in Texas you can pick and choose providers but the owner of the “last few miles” referred to as the “physical provider” adds a .04 cent surcharge for delivery. I thought I was stealing it a 6 cents until I read the fine print.
