I think small businesses are taking a bigger hit than the general public and large businesses. I think the 9% inflation number is BS, even for my personal expenses, but for business expenses I think the average is 30-40%, aluminum and stainless steel have more than doubled since Biden took over. Also extra indirect hours have a bigger effect on the little guy. I am sure with these supply chain issues a purchasing agent spends a lot more time accomplishing less than they used to. I used to have 6 employees, then 2008 killed all my customers to never return so I reinvented myself. I am now an army of one.
The amount of time where I wear the purchasing agent hat a week has went way up and if there isn't a machine shop job that can run unattended the PA
job pays $0.00 an hour for me and that has been the case lately.

I have plenty of supply chain issues that kill a lot of time as I am a 60 mile round trip for most anything past what a grocery or auto parts store has.

My business is 90% labor and those costs increased 18% in one year. My prices increased 5.5% thanks Brandon

Tough sledding in a bad economy, if you don't mind me asking, what is your business? I am a small job shop, I make machined parts to order, unfortunately all my customers service people buying with their disposable income. There currently is nothing a person can do without when things are tough, that I am involved making. So most often I have to eat a cost hike.

Let's go Brandon!
