Robby Albarado: did he have bad luck?

So I was watching some amazing videos of Mineshaft (for the first time ever)..
WHAT A HORSE!!

and then I realized Robby Albarado rode him quite a bit. I had known this jockey more from his Curlin fame. Anyhow I look up his stats and realize that this seems to have a whole bunch of 2nd and 3rd in TC races.. with only one first (with Curlin in the Preakness). Equibase

Tough luck huh? Do you know any other jockeys who have had so many 2nd, 3rds in TC races and no wins or just 1?

I guess missing out on the Derby winner the way that he did in 2011 would qualify as bad luck.

maybe there is such a thing as Karma........ his sterling personality and all......

well.. that was more like Johnny V's good luck was better than anyone else's to put him on that horse that week!

Corey Nakatani hasn't won a Triple Crown race in over 20 tries, but he did have some good finishes (i.e. Nehro).

Is it tough luck, or is it that he's a very medicore jock who keeps getting good mounts?
