That definitely wasn't the Dell Comics version.

I enjoyed it.

That Superman was no stiffer than George Reeves as he flew in the 1950's.

Dell Comics never had a version. Superman belongs to DC. That's "Detective Comics," not "District of Columbia."

Reeves's flying was an improvement over Kirk Alyn of the Superman serials. When Alyn flew he would turn into an obviously animated drawing.

I forgot about Alyn.

Every Saturday morning we used to go down and pay a nickel or a dime at the theaters to watch movies.
The Superman serial would be part of them. Hard to believe, but we looked forward to them.
Also, the "bad guys" in this were role models for smoking.

The animated flying starts at the 10:53 mark (or thereabouts) of this video.
