A lot of people don't know this, but texas was undefeated vs bama before the 2009 bcs title game. Six games, no Alabama wins and I believe 4 of those were vs bear Bryant. We always had their #.

Doubt that continues.

Beat those aggies next week.
Glad to welcome Longhorns and Sooners to the SEC. With the ongoing evolution of College ball I guess it was inevitable with all the big conferences re-aligning. Gonna miss some of the old rivalries but with the playoffs getting expanded we just gotta adapt. Hopefully we beat the Aggies but they do have some studs on their roster. Thats why Jumbo got that 74 million buck paid vacation

Penix can make some nice throws, he definitively has an strong arm. Even though he didn't look as bad as the box score showed against Oregon St. due to 75% of the game played in bad weather and teammates dropping balls he did not play that good. My Heisman race is down to Nix and Daniels.
Caleb Williams made some mistakes against Notre Dame.

Notre Dame was sharp and their pass rush was dominating forcing quick plays or dangerous scrambles, allowing for a sharp pass defense to mostly hold position and react/swarm.

About to get sacked and you have a tight end or slot over the middle? Those are usually unfortunately plays you have to bullet short probable into the turf.
He errored a couple times at least and lobbed it. ND made him pay.

Also a few (designed?) quick outs that he kind of quickly fired without heart.

but he did bounce back and fight for some good plays.

Can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

I never said he was not under duress, my point was most all of his highlight plays are throwing to a first read with the O-line holding up, it is hard to judge a player if you see a lot of that.

I know you know football, so that could be a factor.

Guess we'll see. Hopefully (for the sake of the analysis) he goes to a team that is decent enough and trying to win.

I know football to a point, there are areas where I am incredibly bright, and other areas where I am incredibly stupid. I try not to speak on the subjects where my football I.Q. is well below room temperature. I am the opposite of Tony Romo, trying to predict what play an offense runs next is not one of my skills. You mentioned throwing over the middle, Williams doesn't need to worry about a bunch of those opening up as he is not a running threat.

If you have a guy like Jayden Daniels whose threat to run can cause a spy or spies, that throw over the short middle to a TE or RB with room to run is usually wide open. That is one of the first flaws I saw In Colin Kaepernick he failed on those throws, most of the time he did not even look there. That for a dual threat QB is a death sentence. I still think the fact Jim Harbaugh went
18-6 with Kap, before the bottom fell out, shows how great a coach he is.
He had such glaring flaws he should not have lasted past 10 games.

I believe that. Wouldn't surprise me if he could throw 65 yards or whatever the further distance for those NFL skills all-star contests they have.
Steve McNair had a hell of an arm too.

I know he's a southpaw (at least I think he was left handed, my short-term memory is unreliable), just a couple of the highlights he threw a ball that I thought (w/out rewinding and re-watching) while not quite 'awkward' were not how I would characterize a natural smooth throwing motion. On the other hand he had a lot of other passes that were fine.
Good leader. Good quarterback at least from what I saw.

Yes he is a lefty, second to last drive he made a sidearmed throw while falling
down and moving to his right to a guy running an out route to the left sideline. They replayed that one twice, I still could not believe he did that.
I bet most NFL Qbs would have thrown that 5 yards short.

I think he will succeed in the next level, but it will take some time.

Edit - I just saw it vs. Oregon State. Great throw.

At least we should see the top 3 two more times as they should all be in the conference final games. Unless Nix stubs his toe it should be his. I know, great observation. He is the only one that did not have a bad or mediocre game all season.

I don’t believe Oregon St. thought it was very entertaining finding themselves on the losing side of a 31 to 7 debacle and being out played at every level in this game. Bo Nix continues to amaze with 3 TDs (2 passing & 1 running) and an 83% passing completion % and 367 passing yards. If you’re an Oregon fan it was a very entertaining game.
I’m really looking forward to the PAC 12 playoff game in a rematch between Oregon and Washington in Las Vegas in 2 weeks..

Headed to Tiger Stadium to see the man in person this morning.
Sorry Aggies, we’ve got to have this one

Harrison, 5 catches 118 yds and a TD, his long of 44 yds was a nice catch. The negative, he gave up on an under thrown ball and did not fight the defender for it and it turned into an interception which could have made the difference in a 30-24 loss to Michigan. Not turning into a defensive back on that under thrown ball gets a B grade for that game from me. Listed at 6'4" 205, I doubt he is that heavy, the kid needs to hit the weight room. Is he even the best receiver in the NCAA, first time I paid close attention to him this year.
