Nyquist

Good Day,

I read Nyquist is going to race Feb 15 at Santa Anita then ship to Florida to race in the Florida Derby... is that weird or what? None the less does he want to meet Moheyman before Kentucky? Interesting stuff

Very unconventional and I would not be shocked if that game plan changes since the Santa Anita Derby is only a week later and there are no powerhouses like Dortmund this year. Why go after Mohaymen in Florida when you can take on Mor Spirit and perhaps Smokey Image? Seems like a no brainer to me.

As a Fasig-Tipton graduate, he's eligible for a bonus if he wins the Florida Derby. It makes perfect sense.

from a derby handicapping standpoint its fine by me... lets sort out Mohaymen vs Nyquist before the first saturday in may. If Nyquist cant beat him at 1 1/8 doubt he can at 1 1/4... trip/post position depending of course

I wasn't aware of that, but still, you would think winning the Derby would be more important than winning a bonus. All that extra shipping can't be a net plus.
