Not that the court took the verdict lying down
http://koin.com/2016/10/27/jury-reac...-malheur-case/
Quote:
The atmosphere in the courtroom became heated once the verdict was read and Ammon Bundy’s attorney Marcus Mumford began arguing his client should be freed.
The Bundy brothers are still under federal indictment for their roles in the 2014 standoff at their father Cliven’s Bunkerville, Nevada ranch.
U.S. Marshals tackled Mumford to the ground and hit him with a stun gun multiple times. He was taken into custody but released shortly thereafter.

Surprising, but glad to see it. Per the local TV coverage, with the never ending stories about the trash and feces left behind by the evil occupiers, I thought they were going to do some hard time for sure.
Must have brought in the relatives to OJ's prosecution team....

because there is another case against him the feds probably didn't make up any evidence against these guys, in the next one you can be sure they will be taking no chances, the defense has no chance in that case even if the accused are really innocent.

this is a perfect example of how fed up with the government people have become. I totally wrote this country off when they re-elected obama. but man have a pile of people seen the light. I never would have expected it.

Don't get too excited......she still won the popular vote. But the right people seem to be coming around. When juries are starting to nullify cases in which the Feds are big favorites, there is progress being made👍
This jury of your peers thing has been fantasy for so long, glad to see it make a comeback

Fully Informed Juries
If more citizens understood their FULL rights as jurors we could prevent some of these travesties of justice. Things like people being fined or thrown into prison for doing something with a pond on their property (EPA wetlands regulations), the original charges against the ranchers that the Bundys were supporting, etc.
I also remember a case in California where a man was charged in Federal court for violating drug laws (federal marijuana laws) but was prevented by the judge from bringing up that California laws allowed him to do what he was charged with. A clear violation of his First Amendment rights.
To find out more about fully informed juries go to http://fija.org/
And if you ever want to get out of jury duty tell the judge you have the right to judge the law as well as the facts.
