Did I do my maximum Exacta combination calculations right?
I wondered how much playing all combinations of an Exacta would be and I did some calculations for a 8 horse race and I multiplied 8×8×8×8×8×8×8×8 and got about $16 Million for all combinations for Exacta in a 8 horse race. Did I do my Exacta combination calculations the right way?
If I didn't do my calculations right, how much would the maximum cost be for all combinations of a 8 horse race for Exactas?

That would be for an octo-fecta. 
An exacta box would be 56.

I don’t know . I don’t know how long some people have been doing this . I also saw thread on “betting every horse in the race .” Why would anyone do this ? Yeah, if you’re on vacation or having fun pitching in with friends maybe . Once a year or so bettor? But Christ, if you’re playing horses for any length of time these bets have . “Hey track ! Take all my money ….. please !”

I'm only betting a $1 a horse when I bet on every horse in the race in say an 8 horse race. So, I'm only betting $8 and hope the Longshot wins.

The other day, the horse race I wanted to do had 11 horses. There was the option to do an Exacta with all horses on just one ticket. I chose that option and that option was $110. I didn't have enough to bet $110, but it's good to know that I can choose all horses on just one ticket for Exacta. I didn't know that until the other day.
