Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, as often happens at Laurel, it was the only two turn race on the card. All of the races were pretty fast and consistent other than Race 5. I believe R5 was slow do to the pace which was absurdly slow.

Belmont today, R9, couldn't make this stuff up if I tried:
Teletimer: 24.36, 47.98, 58.65, 1:09.68 (Incremental 24.36, 23.62, 21.70)
LosTrakus: 21.85, 44.83, 55.91, 1:07.39 (Incremental 21.85, 22.98, 22.56)
Other races on the inner turf had pretty big differences, though not quite like R9.
R6 opening quarter 22.14 in the chart, 22.85 on Trakus. R3 had an opening quarter of 23.93 in the chart, 24.64 on Trakus.
Seriously bush league stuff.

Best racing circuit out there -
I am curious what you find on the tracks using the new GPS system.
If they look to be pretty good, I am willing to limit 100% of my play to only those tracks using it.
I find track like NYRA insulting to me as a customer with their pathetic management. Seriously, if YOU, 1 guy - can find all these errors at all there tracks, there is NO excuse for any of them, especially the one that claims to be so GD important to the game to NOT find them themselves. Pathetic people run that place.

This should be exhibit A to whatever NYRA exec finally realizes something needs to be done about this. Furthermore, by the video it actually looks like the 6f went in closer to 1:11 unless there was a gigantic run up. Curious what fractions/final time you see on this with your review CJ.

Run up was listed for R9 at 166 feet.
The tracks seem to love turf racing, but none have really figured out how to time them when the rails start getting moved around. They also don't seem to really care.
I'll download this race and time it later, but with the rails way out and the long run up, it won't be an easy task. I just don't have it in me right now. This crap is wearing me down.

With a run-up that long then trakus probably did have it more accurate, which is hard to believe since those were mediocre horses who didn't exactly look to be motoring. The good news is only a few more weeks of this on the NY circuit, then you can relax when the focus turns back to Gulfstream & their impeccable methods.
Any idea why DRF charts never include the run-ups? Seems like that info is more pertinent than ever, would be a nice bit to throw in there.

Yeah, I mean clearly to my mind the teletimer was wrong on R9. Is Trakus right though? I really don't know.
I'll ask about the DRF charts. I've always used Equibase.

Not as many but check out the 5th race from Oct 4th - something was off there so instead of just hand-timing on video or some other method, official records just declared no fractions or final time, what's with that garbage? So you might have a potentially key race which now ends up with no speed figure assigned to all the participants & no easy way for people to make heads or tails of it.

Believe it or not, somehow the stewards have re-instituted the times for that race as correct. Of course they aren't, and neither are the times for R3 run that same day at the same distance.
Here is my mini-rant on the subject. Click on the tweet to see the ones that follow about R5 on 10-4.

Way too many to list, but Indiana Grand has been an utter disaster from a timing standpoint virtually the entire meet. Thank goodness it ends on Wednesday.

CJ, just curious. The tracks using the new GPS system - are you seeing anything to indicate improvement, worsening, or status quo? Really hoping for some light at the end of the tunnel.

So far I'd say it is pretty good. It isn't as precise as the beam system, and there are the occasional stinky times. I'm willing to give it some time.

Mahoning Valley (11-7) First 2 races today - no fractional time splits, only the final time. They kicked off the meet back in October with just a final time as well in the first race - which still doesn't seem right to me. Are they the new Indiana Grand??
