bridges on interstate highways have fallen before ... many bridges are need in repair
but there seems to be an efficiency problem in the federal government .... they probably would be better just giving money to states, so there would be one less level of corruption screwing things up (although many states have similar levels of inefficiencies and corruption).

Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman, a pot head who flies the Weed Flag over the state house in Harrisburg, declined to join #FJB/Brandon on his visit to Pennsylvania, but found time to show up at the collapsed bridge.
He was just too busy for the failing illegitimate president of his own party, it seems.
If you hadn't noticed by now, the Biden presidency is over, and a war over Ukraine's border will not help him. Actually it might get him impeached, if not now, in January 2023 when the GOP takes over the house and senate.

Perfect optics for this administration a total collapse. How lucky for US Joe's massive motorcade was not crossing it at that moment. But as they say timing is everything. What you want to bet any bridge that Ole Briben needs to cross will be double checked from this day forward.

Where I was at during the joke that was the American Recovery Act all the infrastructure work I saw was just wasting money on unnecessary projects.
Examples were a sound barrier wall along a freeway where it passed through barren land that would never be developed, as it was close to a Superfund site and people were using it as a toxic waste dump. Land in that area isn't very valuable so contaminated land isn't worth paying for clean up to develop it. In the same area they widened exit ramps that might handle one car every 10 minutes. I just wonder who the hell signed off on projects like this? They might of well been digging holes and then filling them back up.

COME ON MAN, it was a bomb just waiting to go off because of catastrophic climate disruption. High water flow from flash floods, salt due to winter storms larger than recent memory ....
Pres Biden says Pittsburgh has the most bridges of any city ... maybe they do not need them all and some should be closed (rather than spend $5-10 million to repair that one).
