I do not care, I don't live in Oregon, and I am 60 years old. If I was a young single man and lived there I would be pissed. I used to go to country dance clubs. I wonder what a guy would look like in western garb, with a cowboy hat and a face diaper? I would also not know if the girl I was dancing with had a better mustache than mine.

Both of my daughters live in Oregon, Bend area. My oldest daughter, married, two boy's. They have been trying to purchase a home for 3 years. They are always getting pounded out on there offers. They can't compete with the deep pockets of people moving there. I am having them move in with me and save more money to purchase there first home. They love the area. Bend is turning into Portland and she does want her boy's to go to school in Oregon. They have there eyes on purchasing, back home, in southeast Alaska.

Same almost everywhere.
Here (Reno) last I heard, for the year 51% of all homes were sold for cash (i.e. no financing).
If you want to buy a house, better bring big money.
My son, the one in the movie biz, was trying to buy a house in SoCal. Every Friday, they'd put in a new offer, only to have it rejected by Sunday night.
Examples were 900 sq feet for $900k, and you have no chance without 25% over.
Eventually, he moved to "New Hollywood," also known as Atlanta. Bought a home listed at $450k for only $50k over.

You know that it used to be the case you invested in a home because you wanted your kids going to school where you want, some will soon have a real shock to find out what they did to the hospitals near you.
