Hasn't that been pretty much known for a while now?

Apparently, but not to me. It was just a face-value question on my part.

Found this article from June which gives an idea of the current lay of the land, including the expectations re Aqueduct. Embedded within it is a link to a Bloodhorse article with a lengthy interview of the NYRA chairperson, which provides some more insight.

Some of these articles mention it, but none address the fundamental question about year-round racing at Belmont. Can the winter track be maintained with a grandstand in its current location on the south side, thus keeping the stretch in the shade for most of the day? After a freeze, the shaded area will take much longer to thaw.
That's why some of the earlier speculation talked about relocating the grandstand to the other side, or converting the training track area to a winter track. That talk seems to have gone away, but has NYRA addressed this question in any of their public announcements?

I'll defer to the more knowledgeable observers of the NYRA scene on the board, but the suggestion here is that they'll add an inner synthetic track which would be suitable for winter racing. Inside the two existing turf courses. I don't know how much that very inner part is hit with sun/light/etc. in the winter now. They're also talking about reducing the size of the current grandstand, which would presumably reduce the overall shadow.

They’ll end up putting the synthetic races into their main spring and fall meet cards so any pick X sequences will be unplayable for me.
Don’t pull a Gulfstream. Please.

Maybe they’ll finally move the Met back to Memorial Day but then run it on synthetic.

And what’s with PP’s not listing the horses race record at AQU because the official call tag is BAQ? Do we want to make it harder for the customer? The horse is running at Aqueduct.

I saw that too & immediately couldn't believe how stupid, but if you look closer the race record actually reflects races from AQU, they just misprinted it as BEL & hopefully that's corrected shortly.

I have a lot of queries and reports broken out by track code. For some things like post positions and distance/running style profiles, w2w%, I clearly want that data grouped with AQU. On the flip side, there are things like "Avg Beyer by Class" and certain trainer data I may still want to group with BEL. I'm not sure what the right answer is, but I suspect not enough thought was given to it. I'd prefer just calling it AQU. That's what it is.
