Results of today's 2nd, Pletcher's, Giant Surprise

Today Pletcher's, Mike Repole's two year old FTS, Giant Surprise, won the 2nd by 4, going wire to wire. I was watching the feed and just after the wire they showed a closeup--two outriders had hold of him, and JR had quickly dismounted. There was no winners circle shot at all, the feed went directly to the replay.

Just now reading the chart, it noted his 2 1/2 length lead at the top of the stretch while stating--

. . . . "was let out turning for home, kicked clear and lengthened away during the last eighth, kept busy to the end, then was vanned off after the finish."

Hope he's ok.

Ugh, really? I hope not.

Unless I missed it, the article doesn't say it was actually broken. ?

Isn't that the second Pletcher 2 yr old to go down already this year?

I was wondering how many 2 yr olds do Pletcher and Baffert have this year? What % of their 2 yr olds actually ever get to the races? How many of them break down?

Wow. Who would pay $3500 to breed to a fragile horse like this??

I realize anything can happen to the soundest of horses while running but still.
