Welcome back.
Thanks! I still occasionally post on the racing side..

A couple of Facebook videos of Lisa and foal:

Chow time!

Play time!

I also wanted to add that in an earlier post, I said that the birth took place in KY, since that what I was led to understand via Facebook posts from her connections. The colt was actually born in NY, but apparently he and mom will be moving to KatieRich Farm (Lisa's owner) in KY soon..

Well, almost a year later after being sold, Lisa's 2yo Big Brown colt is ready to run at Saratoga! He's entered to run on Friday in the 10th, but is an AE so will likely have to wait for another spot..

As expected, the colt didn't make the race. I didn't really get why they were debuting him on turf anyway, he's been working much better on the dirt.

Debuts today on the dirt in the 3rd race at SAR for a $50K tag. He's 2/1 on the ML.

tough game

you lay out $135,000 to buy the colt, suffer through 10 months of bills and the rigors and chances for injury...….then comes the big day and the public could jump in for $50,000 and be right where you are. the right thing to do but geez. tough thing to swallow

Left at the gate. Had to go hard to get back with the field, nothing in the stretch. Toss race, but hope he got something from it.

I'd like to see him in the 2YO NYB Aspirant Stakes at Finger Lakes on 9/8. Back to mom's stomping grounds!

3rd time out yesterday for Not That Brady at AQU.. led the whole way but was passed in the final strides to finish second.

http://www.equibase.com/premium/char...18&cy=USA&rn=1

This was a huge effort given the results of his 2nd race, where he didn't lift a hoof and was beaten by 80 lengths. A toss race if there ever was one, I guess..

Just looked at the replay.
Here's my take.
Rider kept a good honest pace throughout.
In midstretch the rider saw the eventual third place finisher come along side to challenge. Rider switched paths to allow Not That Brady to see his competition. The horse dug in and refused to be passed. The winner had just enough to get by Not That Brady,
In my opinion, this was a gritty performance by a tough horse. If the connections are patient, and don't try changing too many things, Not That Brady will soon break his maiden.
