How about we use it to time the races?
Gotta be better than what we have now!

What, put the fans on horses and let them run around the outside of the track?

How about chariot races and 4-horse quadrigas like they used to do in Rome...

I would love to see Bob and Chad dressed up as Gladiators, going at it in the REAL BUGGIES...probably too much to ask, huh, I know I would pay to see THAT...

I think it is a great idea and I would definitely go and do it...although with limited seating, not too many people could do it each race...they would probably charge for the “ride” each time and you would probable have to get off each time, to keep the cost down and so that everybody would have the opportunity to “experience” it. Not sure how the interface with the horses would work out, unless the tram moved behind the field somewhat, I don’t know, maybe they horses would get used to it...How much would you be willing to spend for the ride...? $15 a pop...?

Plus, at 40 mph there would be significant centripetal force involved so one would need to be tethered in and be doing nothing other than riding...

I've always maintained that a few modern, redesigned tracks providing entertainment and a certain level of exclusivity would save on-site attendance. To go with a few classic sites like Sar, Dmr and CD.

Just look at the other major sports. They drew fans despite costly one-day experiences. Or Las Vegas, for that matter when it ditched 99 cent breakfasts in favor of expensive attractions.

The wealthy and power brokers are essential to protect racing from the dirtbag do-gooder PETA types that are politically trying to end the sport. Having some WOW factor can only help.

An interesting idea for sure!

Maybe they could substitute the tram with mechanical horses that the patrons could ride on a track that runs on the inner or outer perimeter of the actual race track.

Some of you might recall the old Steeplechase ride at Coney Island, NY.

I think shots from a drone from different elevations and angles would be more interesting and effective.

A Moving Grandstand?

Listen, I go to Pimlico, I would be happy if the leaky roof didn't leave puddles in my seating area..

Especially when it comes to designing racetracks and dividing purses!
