Ha-ha. Except it's not true that half pay no taxes. (SS, sales taxes, property taxes, etc.) Plus seniors are a large percentage of the half that don't pay income taxes. What's the senior solution to that, Mr. Legend?

The real solution is a flat tax that everyone pays, GW Bush and wife about 34% currently and Senator John Kerry and wife Theresa pay 13% currently. I can tell you who will pay more of these two examples with a flat tax. The same flat tax would have many movie stars wanting to kill their own kind for letting it happen. And while it is true the rich are paying 85% of the whole tax burden its also true not all the rich pay the same. Why do you think the tax code is so big, and why does the sitting President confer with Bill Gates and Warren Buffet and all the others about taxing more millionaires? Because they don't want anyone nipping at their heels getting the deals they get.

So clever and so sharp. Let's take it another step using leftwingnut logic:

The Earned Income Credit crowd pay sales tax --- in some states. The Earned Income Credit crowd pay huge taxes on their baronial estates. The evil employers pay for Unemployment Insurance, not the noble employees. Add it all up, and we can conclude that the evil middle class pay no SS, sales or property taxes. The fact that all starving people pay onerous taxes doesn't prove that the middle class do. [See Mostpost's tract A Mostpost Rhetor; Chapter (1): Rules for Wrongheads.] See how simple that is ? If they did pay those taxes, it would add up to real money, and the evil rightwinger argument might have some logical force to it.

Has it occurred to anyone that, if all of our poor brethren are paying such onerous taxes, we should be solvent ? We're all paying taxes, but it's never enough money. Can we at least imagine it might be too much spending, evil rich or no evil rich ?

Why doesn't Obama just come out and pass a law stating that black Democrats don't have to pay any taxes at all including sales tax? That should solve everything. After all, he's been pushing this back door reparations thing since he set foot in the White House. Let's stop playing freakin games and put the cards on the table.

Flat Tax

I have almost 500 people in my Yahoo group, all horseplayers, but we get off topic sometimes and argue about politics with the usual left/right disagreements. However, whenever we talk about taxes we also agree that the tax code is way too complicated and something like a flat tax or sales tax no ZERO tax write offs would be way better than the absurd system we have now.
