Adrian Peterson indicted for child injury

Full story and NFL status unknown.
Story here.

Quote:
Multiple reports, including TMZ, Fox Sports and the Fox affiliate in Houston, said Peterson was indicted on Thursday in Montgomery County for reckless or negligent injury to a child. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said the indictment stems from Peterson disciplining his son with a switch, which is a flexible rod.

According to TMZ, unnamed sources said the alleged victim is a male child from Minnesota, who was visiting Peterson at the running back's home in Texas this past May. When the child returned home to his mother in Minnesota, she noticed injuries and took the child to a doctor, TMZ siad. TMZ added the doctor contacted authorities in Texas to report Peterson.

Which is it his son or a male visitor?

ESPN reported the victim as a guest in his home

Note: AP's 2 year old son was murdered last year by the boyfriend of the boys mother while in her care in So. Dakota.

This is getting wierd. The "child" has been ID'd ? as his 4 year old son. The picture show in a previous thread does not look like a 4 year old IMO.

The Vikings have deactivated Peterson effective immediately.

It appears that Peterson has as much as admitted guilt:
Quote:
Through his lawyer, Peterson has stated that he did not mean to inflict such serious harm. It is possible he meant only to teach the child a lesson. That, however, doesn't absolve the Minnesota Vikings star. And Peterson's intentions, however benign they may have been, didn't affect what the Vikings did in response.
Article here.

Three words best describe Peterson:

Stupid country f**k

And I would expect he'll get tried by a jury of his peers.

No. I grew up around them. You'd be hard-pressed to find someone from his background who wasn't whupped with a switch...and thought it was a natural part of growing up...and then did the same to their kids.

I don't know, Dave. I too was struck with a switch growing up...but it taught me never to lay a hand on my kid.

I got the belt and switches growing up, but that was then and this is now. Peterson was flat-out stupid by self-incriminating himself. Keep your homegrown mouth shut country boy.
