NFL on the ropes - comish must go

If the AP report and what TMZ said is correct and true then the NFL commissioner must resign.

This is not any different than the former owner of the Cliippers losing his team, the Penn State incident, etc.

Roger Goodell

What did he know and when did he know it, or, the coverup's always worse than the act itself.

Expect him to be stepping down very, very soon because now the story's national in scope.

Very difficult to lie about not having the tape; always someone coming out of the woodwork today.

Are you serious? He is the CEO of a sports organization and serves at the pleasure of the owners. They are the only ones who get a vote.

Reportedly, an NFL official was given a tape in April. One person from LE and one from TMZ so stated.

RG is now using the phrase "to my knowledge". Let the cover up begin.

Also it has come out that there is a 12 second audio with an NFL exec. verifying receipt of tape.

apparently in that 12 second audio the NFL Exec says "you're right. it's terrible"

so she clearly watched it and how would she not tell Rog or someone else there?

All he needs is plausible denial and somebody else to take the fall for him...shouldn't be too difficult...

Seems to me the goal of this independent investigation is to save Goodell, nothing more. If he didn't watch the video, it is because he didn't want to watch the video. No way he didn't know it was available.

Not so fast my friend......"Ignorance is not a suitable defense" - Roger Goodell

The czar replied to Saints management regarding "bounty-gate"

Why hasn't TMZ or CNN determined who the NFL woman's voice on the 12 second confirming voice mail is?

Her co-workers must know.

100 Pct agree.

Mike and Mike kept harping on that they don't see why Goodell would "Defend Rice" but they're missing the big picture, Goodell isn't defending Rice, he's defending the shield from further embarrassment. Rug sweeps are always better than standing front and center and addressing the issue.

Pretty soon he'll 'misremembered'.

What a joke this society is becoming.

A white basketball exec can't joke about an African American player, because white people will come after him with their presumed sense of righteousness. Yes, it was a joke about an African bazaar with nice stuff in the front to sell junk in the back. Big deal. Oh, the e-mail was private...

A white NBA team owner can't ask his Asian (?) girlfriend not to come to games (on his tab) with black people. Maybe not the nicest thing to say, but we don't know the context and the conversation was private. To force the sale of his team, the powers that be decide he's no longer fit to judge and declare him insane.

A black athlete knocks his wife-to-be unconscious in a public elevator. The video tape, unlike the communication in the above two cases, was not private. And what does the NFL do? Look the other way.
