Anyone else shed a tear.....

When AP won the Triple Crown? I admit I did. My father, who introduced me to racing in the late 60's, would have loved to have witnessed the moment. I am glad I was able to.

No tear, but goosebumps. I told my wife and daughters it was over when he turned for home, you could just see he had plenty left. We were all yelling at the TV.

I was doing just fine until my brother sent me a photo of him and my father arm in arm, wearing their AmPharoah hats and celebrating a Triple Crown...it may have gotten a little misty after that.

The only thing I felt was relief that the long "drought" wouldn't be harped on endlessly in the near future.

I came close. When Mubtaahij came at him and he repulsed that bid easily I screamed to my girlfriend "he's got another gear". That's when I knew he was going to be really tough to beat. I started getting choked up after being there so many times for so many disappointments.

The crowed reached a level of celebration I haven't seen in NY since the 70s. It was like the entire emotion of the crowd wanted the very same thing. Every time he scooted away from a new challenger the crowd roared because people understood it was becoming a more real possibility. The excitement grew and grew until he won and then there was this huge burst of joy in the stands.

I cried yesterday. And, I cried again today while watching it again. AP could have gone around again and still won.

Not too proud to admit it, I was very teary eyed and I had even bet on Frosted. My family was making fun of me because they had never seen that kind of emotion in me. Still get misty eyed watching Big Reds 31 length trouncing and did the same watching Pharoah's replay today. What a great happening for all of us that truly love the sport and not just the gambling end of it.

yep, the first thing I think of when something big happens in racing is to talk with my Dad about it. The anniversary of his death was 13 yrs ago yesterday, the same day AP won the Triple Crown.

I had that same feeling I had when Secretariat turned for home and was just so far ahead. I had never seen a TC winner and it had been 25 years.
It was just suddenly clear again why I play the game. Great day!

No tears, just a great feeling to be amongst a very large crowd watching a great achievement in horseracing being made for the 4th time; and it would be a greater feeling if he runs in either the Travers or the JCGC and wins.

I was at Riverwind Casino in Norman Ok. The crowd went wild and many people were crying or choked up. I got a little misty myself. People were whooping and hollering and very celebratory. When I saw the 6f was 73 seconds: I thought those other jockeys screwed up. He will finish strong.
