Why do you insist on ignoring this fact? It's not an opinion of mine, it's a fact.

Heavy rains force cancellation of racing at Belmont Park

Pat Mckenna

Following unexpectedly heavy rain in the New York City metro area, the New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) was forced to cancel the final six races at Belmont Park following the third race on Saturday, June 17 to ensure the safety of all participants.

Doesn't say any jockeys canceled anything.

Well, it does say NYRA was FORCED to cancel...forced usually implies acted upon by another party...

Do you think I just make stuff up?

One more time, does anyone think for a second that NYRA, or any racing entity wants to cancel on a Saturday?

Agreed....but wouldn't NYRA leap at the chance to blame some other entity if they could?

This is horse racing American-style.

It's over and moot now, anyway.

Got the day off as everything in Cajunland is closed today in anticipation of a storm that hasn't arrived yet...

BEL Race 1:
giving the nod to the most consistent runner, the , who should get a better trip today....tough race as it's mostly a rematch among 4 of the 6 runners.

2nd race

the 2nd race today is a great example of a field of decent horses who have faced one another, and have comparable form.

The horse who really shines here is the Cournoyer.
The superficial information indicates that Cournoyer is a non-contender, while a look beneath the rind, into the interior, points to Cournoyer as a win contender, and a big value.

The race may be as simple as watching the tote board, and betting Cournoyer, if the price is acceptable (≥ 9/2?).

Perhaps there is more to this race than I think?

The is superior to the , but some models suggest the gap is narrow. The morning line is a wide gap. ?
The has tactical speed and may prove more stubborn than it seems. ?
The appears to have problems, but his new trainer is a problem solver. His form interpretation can be stretched to make excuses. He has a top jock, and like the , he can hope to attend a favorable forward flow. ?

I wish my comprehension would extend to my apprehension. I can only set a margin-for-error with the , and be prepared that there may be more to this race than it seems.

BEL Race 5

Field full of first time starting juvies.
I will try to beat Pletcher chalk ...always love playing against his runners who worked at Mth and shipped to NY to race. Get the feeling they're his 2nd string. Who knows, maybe this colt worked so well that he decided to run him at Bel...he is a NY bred after all, but I'll try to beat him, esp at 6-5.

Using the (it's Rudy) and the who sold for more than 15x his sire's stud fee, and way above his sire's avg at sale.

ex w
win

Right idea, wrong horses....Pletcher finished out of the money at 4-5
Finished for a $2 ex payoff of $47.60

nope not only a bad opinion, it wasn't the contrarian opinion. Late money wiped-out the exacta overlay, and while the 1 ran a solid race at a fair value, Irad Ortiz ran a winning race on the live 3 whose class questions ended up making her a better value than the 4.
