Ya never know . it's a baby race , a few folks may have seen the sire
and broodmare sire and threw a buck down for the heck of it . The horse
has decent bloodlines . lol
Any favorite today that have breathing issues , even a little cough may
have struggled in this extreme cold today . You need good wind .

More interesting is the fact that it payed exactly $200.00 despite his odds been 99-1!
What a disgrace for the game! This type of horses should be prohibited of entering a race so soon after an unexcused and so miserable defeat to protect the betting dollar.

Makes you wonder.

Yesterday...
I happened to be at a NJ OTB for this race.
A guy at the bar in front of me had him for $2 and another guy
on site had another $2 win ticket. (I saw one of the two tickets).
There was a long inquiry on the second place finisher and the debate
was how much this 99-1 shot would pay. The guy with the ticket
mentioned 'probably not much over $200 because he dipped under 99-1 for a while'. The guy actually had him on top of a few horses I the exact for $1 each but failed to hit that. He had no logic at all for playing him.
I don't see a conspiracy here, just a fluke it was exactly $200.

At one time, a $200 winner would get mention in the local papers and be used by the track as a marketing tool. Today all it gets is griping by the regulars.

Robert,
Don't you get it? The regulars want to see a
99-1 who makes logical sense as the winner.
Say what?

Guys, the winner of the 4th at Fair Grounds paid exactly $5. I think we should launch an investigation.

If it makes logical sense, it ain't going to be 99/1.

The horse clearly came out of a key race. Next time that ambulance runs I'd go all in!

It is not "odd" that 99-1 meant exactly 99-1 in this case, any more than it would be odd if 99-1 meant 103-1. There is nothing odd what-so-ever in either situation.
