Risen Star

I wasn’t impressed by the Lecompte, and am looking at alternatives for the Risen Star.

Senor Buscador has been visually impressive, but the Remington thing turns me off.

Thinking O Besos might do it if he can carry his speed, but Hernandez jumping off for Starrininmydreams gives me pause.

Starrininmyndreams feels like the kind of horse than can step up, and has early speed. Thinking he’s my play. Thoughts?

(If you forced me to take a Lecompte horse, it’d be Santa Cruiser, who I picked in the Lecompte and think was hurt much by the break and trip. The rest leave me cold. Santa Cruiser at least leaves me lukewarm.)

Looks like a contested pace to me.

Senor Buscador looks tough. Also interested in Carillo and maybe O Besos underneath.

Good luck

Track conditions

Track was sloppy and no turf Friday. What do you expect track conditions to be Saturday? Off the turf again?

No. No rain in the forecast today. I’m hoping they saved it for today.

If race 11 goes off the turf, I’m playing Blackberry Wine to win.

Senor Buscador and Carillo are both really fun prospects.
I have no idea if either will make a big impact.

The Cox horse Mandoulen? should be a fair price. He hasn't been as hot as he can get, but he's probably a logical somewhat fairly priced contender.

Asmussen has been hot, and maybe he can get his speed horse to move forward enough to win back in a tougher spot here?

Buscador is getting WAY too much hype here, and i question if he will have the same move today in the slop and without lasix.
His price will come down from his 6-1 ML and at this point he's a pass for me

I expect the Santa Cruiser to finish in front of the Senor Buscador.

The is a lot more fun and more interesting. I just don't like him in this spot today.

Was going to do some 10c supers with the 10 underneath, but at these prices (IF 5 is going to be a top 3 exacta choice) there is no reason to really go beyond exactas.

at first watching, maybe the 5 was near the photo for 4th...

I never paid attention to the 10, who knows could have been last?

good value in WPS ex Tri for what turned out to be a boring, formful, race

and were probably the two best, once again.
I'm not a big Proxy fan, but he we was well placed, ran another solid effort, and has an extremely pretty paper form at this point.

Didn't see much from the the or the (the three interesting faces), but again, I haven't re-watched. Or even watched once relatively carefully.

Cool day of racing.

I tried to get the Santa Cruiser into the exotics. I was disappointed in his effort. He was well beaten by the top 3 finishers in his previous race, but he got squeezed at the start and dropped far back in that race on a track that may have been mildly biased towards horses that were up close early in a race that flowed heavily towards the front. I thought he'd be a lot closer early yesterday and finish among that top group. He had a wide trip, but I didn't see much else. I have to watch all the replays.

I went down with Santa Cruiser also.
Needless to say, i was disappointed in his race as well.
I think he got a bad ride (again) on Saturday...he needs a jockey that will put him in the race early. He has the pace figs to be among the early leaders but Beschizza chose to settle off the pace. He was 4-5 wide on the first turn, which is death on a tight turning track like FG.
Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree here, and this colt isn't much, but I'd love to see what he can do against Stakes runners if given the ride i think he needs.
Sadly though, i think his Derby trail ended over the weekend, and his connections may seek easier competition.
