Lockheed looks like he needs a slower pace which he'll get when he goes longer. Impressive win by Wah May Friend (put in a wrong name, there is another horse on the grounds by the name of Wah May Baby and he's nowhere the class of Wah May Friend). Pace was average with the final time slow 2.7, the variant is still hanging around: 0.

Have no clue in the 7th the Mile, Sichuan Dar (19-1) is on my watch list from 2 races back, was outclassed in his last and is most likely outclassed here.

Speed even kills on the turf (sometimes), even when he set quick early pace. Final time right at par.

Another chaos race with all the ship-ins, pulling for the local favourite Werther, not betting the race though. One of the best things about playing Hong Kong ALL of these top horses there are gelded, so they continue to run unlike here in the States horses like Mr Stunning and Werther would be rushed off to the breeding shed.

Purton slows it down and has enough to draw away from Werther when he was asked by Terry. Final time came back slow 2.9 in speed points.

Top last race speed figures with trip notes for the 9th:
Calculation 101 Outrun by longshot that had a weight advantage, didn't change leads. Trouble trip in race before last.
Affluence Start 101 Perfect trip but not fast enough, was not bet at windows.
Diamond King 100 Wide trip outrun by the favourite who ran a 104.
Spicy Sure 99 Was in form, outrun had the aid of a bias in his favour.
Top Beautiful 98 Beaten by longshot, didn't switch to proper lead, was in top form.
Play Wise 96 Not fast enough.

The best ride of the day by Purton in the 9th, he herded Bowman right into the back of a tiring Affluence Start and stopped all his momentum and got Spicy Sure clear at the right moment. Final time right on par.

Love 7-1 on Citron Spirit, who finished a 1 1/4 to Fifty Fifty who would walk over this field.
Rise High (7-1) is coming out of the famous Race 172, 4 horses have won out of that race with 2 more running second.

Couldn't catch the light weight who set a real slow early pace by Moreira. Fun night, glad the stakes races are out of the way back to the bread and butter. night
