You can keep saying that, but it won't start becoming truth. They probably paid less than 100 million with Authorized included.

I get that, but I think they do a lot more prestige buying than trying to make a profit. They spend way too much on horses to make a profit.

It seems strange just how adamant you are about Godolphin/Darley making money.....it seems clear that most people, including me, refute the idea based on the general numbers and results that we have seen....yet you refuse to relent and I respect your tenacity but you havent been able to come up with much data to support your case and until you do, your case seems weak....

If Godolphin buys Quality Road and he becomes the all-time earnings leader with off-the-chart speed ratings, this thread will come full circle, but it still won't make much sense to me.

Who? Godolphin or Darley or both?

Yes I admit that, and I can't back it up with verifiable numbers. But I am being genuine.

Both? Why do I get nothing but questions, but you never answer mine?

What is the question?

No - Godolphin can't make any money. But why would they have to? They are mainly an operational department of a bigger business. Having a good year for just a handful of their 50 stallions will make Darley more money than the total prize money of Godolphin.

I asked a few that you ignored, so why bother?

I understand how they run things, and more so that they almost assuredly lose...and don't care.

They shoot horses, don't they?

Three weeks later and 26 pages of posts and we've had several thread drifts. I'm glad that you started this thread but it looks like it's seriously injured now and should be put down. You're the right guy to do it.

OK - what were those questions.

Your last statement is very unconvincing. The first claim (that you understand) is not the impression I have, and the two other claims are unverifiable, plus you've actually produced 0 evidence for them. All you do is refer to a 2 million purchase which hasn't even had the chance to prove whether it is a profitable investment or not. I think you are letting a strong prejudice get in the way of objective thinking here.

I'm guessing I'm not the only one who laughed at this.

You certainly got them in the right mood by valuing Street Sense at 80 million

I didn't value him at any specific price, but I do have a very good idea what they paid for him and Hard Spun, and certainly know a whole lot better than you.

I don't know why you insist on perpetuating this but all it does is stress how little you actually know about the topic.

You are clueless if you think I have some kind of prejudice against them. You know absolutely nothing about me outside of horse racing.

I know a lot of the facts not because I care, but because I know people that do know. I am able to use those and a little (very little, admittedly) common sense to form my opinion.
