As for the pools, yeah, it's nice to have large pools but there's a ton of action there and horses are always getting hammered late. The good thing, however, is that most of them don't win.

I think the way to win @ Hong Kong is to just watch a lot of races and follow the horses. Been doing that more and more and it's starting to pay off.

i like the part that the money doesn't win! and it doesn't over there.
as far as doubles go, i have seen great payoffs there and shitty ones.. favorites in the place pools seem to get way overbet as well.

Tough card. Like a few. Will try to play live, so some of these might change.


Race 1 - Sweet Diamond (13:1)

Race 4 - Dragon Star (12:1)- never been 1800M and other speed in the race; but breaks inside and gets Purton - angle last race Pakistan Friend (18:1) - out of form for quite a while but looked alive beating some bottom feeders in a recent trial - now or never Turtle Again (9:1) - good races at the distance and gets the rail - no room last out. Chadwick is a huge negative but should be able to get a very nice trip.

Race 5 - Celestial Colours (5:1)- very tough race but HUGE trial, where he dusted Stoltz and a few other decent horses. Won 2 back but not crazy about the shape or Bowman. Depends on the odds.

Race 7 - Brave Star (5:1) - won 2 recent trials - some nice races - but Hewitson is the reason this horse doesn't have a couple more wins - though Lui and Hewitson are a very strong combo. Beauty Infinity (3:1) - always tries - Purton

Race 8 - Excel Wongchoy (14:1)- last at Sha Tin better than it looks - class drop - Ng

Sorry for the redboard. Got out, big time, in the 9th. $17 winner and $88 dollar exacta with the favorite.

Zoom Boom had a nice chart but got a garden rail run last time out. Though he exploded once he got clear late. Don't think much of Whyte as a trainer, as he's much too inconsistent. Went from the rail to the 9 hole today; 3 wide around the track with no cover; and won eased up. Make sense of that shit. Good example of what it takes to cash at Happy Valley.

Race 2 - Stunning Peach Star Mac Foolish Heart

Race 3 - Lucy In The Sky Spicy Gold Glory Elite

Race 5 - Invisible Sage - Bowman back on is a HUGE NEGATIVE

Race 7 - Galaxy Patch - probably not good enough to beat Golden Sixty

Race 8 - Massive Sovereign - probably not good enough to beat Romantic Warrior but this should be interesting

Race 10- Star Club - wicked late kick California Deeply - some sign of life last out


C X Wong writes that trip handicappers working for syndicates spend 1.5 to 2 hours on EACH race. I basically watched about 5 minutes of video for the card.
