another new low for Santa Anita
On Sunday they ran a MCL16000 race. Lowest maiden claimer I can ever remember, and they still only got six horses to run in it.

You're late to the show. That was the 2nd one. They ran that condition for the first time about 3 weeks earlier. Got another one coming up Saturday 2/17.
Did you see the $16,000 claimer for state-breds a couple weeks ago?

They can't afford to lose horses, what else are they going to do?

I didn't see that, is it possible it was an optional claimer? They had those at Del Mar.

This time next month, this will no longer be a new low.

Straight claiming. I do remember that a state-bred OCl was written with a $16K tag rather than the usual $20K, but I thought it was at LosAl. I could be wrong, it may have been at Del Mar, but I do also remember the race.

Isn't SA suppose to be premiere meet during the winter?
More excuses from the Cal players about how poor their product has become.

Santa Anita is THE premier winter meet in North America. That just shows you how bad the product is nationwide, not just at SA.
I didn't see any posters making excuses for SA in this thread, but maybe you read something I didn't.

Agree. I like to think we're discussing, not bitching. Maybe discussing with a little whine poured over it, but discussing all the same.
And I also hate losing more than I love winning. At least I always have some kind of a bankroll that way. Make them drag it out of you. Make them offer you value for your money. That's the only way they should ever get it out of you, IMHO.
