Calvin laid off the whip when he did the look back. Could have made the difference. Maybe the Sheik can chastise him at some point.

After watching the overhead replay, I don't think Curlin ran his A race at all....he looked to me like he was never sure where he was or where he was going. I think this guy has yet to show us his best stuff. I though he never really got down to busniess until SS blew by him late, then he took off.
You could see his head turning side to side thorughout the race, like he was enjoying the scenery.
Hats off to Calvin, though - he found the rail, used it, and blew by late.....classy guy, he apologized to CArl for losing by a nose after a great drive.
Now, who's going to get a mile and a half?

If Curlin goes, he wins easily.
We won't see Hard Spun or Street Sense in the next race.

If Hard Spun goes in the Belmont, perhaps Pino can make his move entering the backstretch this time.....

I didnt have the top two so following is NOT sour grapes. Borel single handidly lost the race. Shocked the announcers didnt mention it. Anyone who watched the Derby should have been able to see Borel gloating and looking back BEFORE the end of the race. No one said a word. Well guess what. Did the same here and cost him big time. When have you ever seen Bailey, Stevens or McCarron looking over their shoulder in a race like that? Talking about the Preakness. Cost his horse momentum and the race. Wouldnt ride him again after those antics.

Yep. I screamed and yelled at the Dog when I saw that !! Looked to me
as if the race was lost around the far turn when SS had to move in and
out of some traffic. That's all it took. As opposed to the perfectly clean
ride in the Derby.

I think he will be a great horse if he ever learns to relax. He rated a little more today than he ever had but when they got to the 5/8 pole, he just took off.

I had the top three in order and
cleaned up on straight bets, exactas and trifectas. My bookie just called and (not allowed to have ADW accounts in Mississippi) wants to know if I will take installments. he hee hee lol! just kidding but I did make a huge score today.
Man ain't horse racing fun!! Not to mention profitable.
It's amazing to me, we have almost 20 Casinos in this state but can't have an ADW account. I guess (they?) are afraid it might corrupt the population and create gamblers.
